My Valentine

I wanted to blog these Atcs earlier today, but I've had a rotten day.....health and family issues have had me in tears today...
Feeling slightly better tonight and I've booked myself a day out tomorrow, just me on my own.
These 3 Atcs were made for a swap, the theme was Love/Valentine.

For this Atc I used distress ink for the atc then gessoed a piece of cardboard that I had stripped back. I added some scrim and silver mesh, then the heart, which I made using a free stamp from the Craft Stamper magazine....to finish I wrapped some raffia around the topper then adhered it to the atc.

This atc was covered with backing paper, then I added the image, which is a freebie I had in my stash. The sentiment was computer generated. To finish I added the lace and the trim of rhinestones.

This atc has one of my favourite images...again a freebie from my stash, mounted on some brown card.
The base of the atc was shaded using distress ink, then I added some lace and the images...again the heart was made by using a freebie stamp from the craft stamper magazine.

A Romantic Tag for February

I have a Project Share Group on Facebook, its small and has a handful of ladies that create different projects to share in the group...I did have a larger group, that was becoming stale with only a few members participating in swaps and challenges and I had decided to close it, however several ladies messaged me asking me to keep the Tag Challenge going....the idea is to make a Tag a month, using a theme and then at the end of the year, make an album for the Tags....so far their Tags have been amazing, so I am glad I've kept it going...

This is my February Tag...The theme is Love/Romance and this is my take on it....

The Gibson Girl Stamp is by Artistic Outpost, which I coloured with distress inks.
The script is from a Paris set by Elusive Images...
The Tag was added just to add effect really and I think it works.

The edges of the tag and label were distressed using wild honey ink....I wanted to keep with the warm tones....you'll notice I kind of scribbled with the colouring, I wanted it to look a painted sketch ,if you know what I mean, lol.
Now I have to think of a theme for the March Tag....

Recycled Stamping Block

February has come around so quick...there was so much I wanted to get done, I think I've only achieved half of what I set out to do,lol.
So here we are, all set for February's Challenge over at.....Rhedd's Creative Spirit.....
For my project this month I decided to alter a wooden stamping block....I have quite a few that I took the stamps off, I then sanded the wood all ready to use...lots of different sizes.

I gessoed the wood then painted it in cream acrylic paint.

Once dry I spritzed with some dark pink acrylic paint that I had diluted with water and dried it using the heat tool. Then using a dotted stencil I pounced evergreen bough distress ink all over the block.

I set the block aside to dry completely before stamping the image and sentiment and shrubs.
I also added a sentiment to the back of the block....

To finish I distressed the edges with pickled raspberry ink....
To be honest I was very pleased with the finished piece, so much so that I intend making a few more, this one looks lovely on my dressing table, so a few more dotted around my home would look lovely.
Hope to see you enter the challenge, remember it is for altered art & mixed media only....you can find the challenge here...Rhedd's Creative Spirit

We are Back....

After a long break over the Christmas and New Year, the team are all set and ready for the February Challenge over at Altered Eclectics
We have some new teamies on board for 2015 so plenty of projects to feast your eyes on....maybe give you some inspiration to join in with the challenge.
My project is Altered Sewing Machine Bobbins.....a first for me.

Except for the Bobbins, which are new, everything else I used from my stash...
Beads, chain, links, fancy fibres, charms and ribbons.
These make fab handbag charms.

I love them all, but the red one is definately my favourite....
Hope to see  you over at the challenge, which you can find here...Altered Eclectics
