A Mass of Bluebells...

Time again for the "Cheeky Challenge" over at Dezinaworld.
The challenge runs weekly with a theme....and this week's the theme is " Wild Flowers "

The photo I have used for this piece is one of my own, taken a few years ago at a reservoir on Dartmoor in Devon.
As you can see there was an abundance of Bluebells and the smell from them was amazing...I couldn't resist taking a photo.
The lady with a flower in her hand is a digital image from one of Dezinaworld kits.

Betty Grable Tag

Here I am again, entering another challenge that I've not entered in a while...this year for me is all about being a regular challenger....
There are so many varied challenge blogs out there now, it so worth the effort to go and visit them....I also glean a lot of inspiration from design teams and also the entrants...there is an awful lot of talent out there that's for sure.
So the challenge over at Moo Mania "Famous People"...any thing you want to make and any medium.

I've had this fabulous Betty Grable stamp for years....I think I've only used her about 3 times...so the perfect stamp for the challenge.

Olde Worlde

I have quite a good selection of photos, some given to me and some that I've been given permission to use and I always wondered how I could put them to better use...it was then that I started to dabble in Digital Art.
Now, I know that I am not very good, but I have fun and some of my work has turned out ok, much to my surprise lol.
I created this piece last night, well in the early hours when I couldn't sleep....

Go Team Tag

I so love the challenges each month over at Artistic Outpost...after missing Decembers Challenge I was determined not to miss this month.
Towards the end of last year I was a winner and won a voucher which I put towards a set of new stamps. I was spoilt for choice, but as I own so many of their stamps I went for one of their newer sets called "Go Team"
As always with Artistic Outpost Stamps, the quality and detailing is superb.
Here is my Tag using said set....

You can find their challenge here at.....
Do check out their very few rules before entering as a requirement of their challenge you must use their products.

I am also entering this Tag in to the challenge over at Craft Stamper...I'm a regular subscriber to their magazine and they have such varied art subjects each month....
There challenge this month is "Take a Stamp"

Happy New Year & January's Challenge

A very Happy New Year to you all....2015 just sped by and there were many  things that I wanted to do,but never did...hopefully I will do better in 2016,lol...
January's Challenge has just launched over at Rhedds Creative Spirit as always it is for altered art,recycled/upcycled and mixed media only...definately no papercrafting.
My design team project this month is an Altered Door Hanger...I had bought 4 of them last summer, all 4 are slightly different, with the idea to sand them down and alter them...

I sanded down the front area to remove most of the writing, then covered it with 2 coats of gesso.
I added some texture through a stencil and some strips of washi tape.
For colour I used Inkyliscious Corn Blue colour spray and wiped it across the hanger with  a damp sponge then dried it with my heat tool.
With another piece of damp sponge I swiped the hanger with some white acrylic paint, going over any areas that were too white with a baby wipe.

For decoration I used the window frame that's been in my stash for about a year now,lol....( I added a scrap of paper behind the frame )....then added some pieces of a cotton doily and some hessian.

I added the flowers, which I dabbed with Rock Candy, but it dosen't really show up much in the photo above,so I have added a closer shot  so you can see the Rock candy on the petals

A couple of stick pins to finish, then I highlighted some areas with platinum gilding wax.
My daughter who was staying with me over christmas has now bagged this hanger....nothing is safe when she is around, lol
