Altered Cd

I am in a group called Mini-Marvels over on Facebook and one of the members there set up a challenge to alter a Cd..she also is allowing members to swap if they so wish..

Mine isn't for a swap, my daughter wants my Cd for her fridge door, so tonight I have adhered a magnet on the back and will drop it over to her tomorrow sometime...
I am beginning to wonder, as she has so many of my creations, if she has a secret little shop somewhere and is selling them off...lol

Autumn Tags

This weeks challenge has just started over at
                                    Go Tag Thursday
The theme this week is Autumn...my favourite time of the year...
                                   Here are my Tags.....

                                                  Tag 1

I created this large Tag by colouring the background with distress inks then stamping the row of trees using the masking technique as the stamp wasn't long enough for the whole tag. The sun was made by punching a circle on some paper and using it as a stencil. ( this I did before colouring the background )
Then I just added the sentiment....both stamps are by Inkylicious.

                                                 Tag 2

I created the background the same way as I did on the first tag, I wanted to have a nice autumn rustic look for the tag background...
I added some green mesh then inked up a scrap of corrugated cardboard with crushed olive distress ink, tied some raffia around it and adhered it to the tag.
The leaves were rubber stamped then cut out, dabbed with Barn Door,Fossilised Amber,Mowed Lawn and Crushed Olive distress ink...I added some very fine glitter for an early morning dew effect.

I am entering this 2nd Tag in to the Anything Goes...Orange Challenge over at
I was delighted to find my September project was selected as one of their Top Five....now who's a Happy Bunny...

Oriental Tags

This weeks challenge is over at Go Tag Thursday has started...the theme is Oriental. Now this is a theme I have never been very good at..however I did give it my best shot,lol....

The stamp on the smaller tag is from a Crafter's Companion set that was given to me by a friend as she had never used them...
You can find the Go Tag Thursday Challenge HERE

P.S....There is also a call for 2 guest designers..but you have to enter the challenge or have entered the challenges before to be eligible....email me at   sandie.w@live.co.uk   if interested.

Joker Atcs....

I made these 3 Atcs for a swap...The theme was the letter "J"
Quite quick to make too..distressed the edges of the atcs with inks..stamped and coloured the playing card image..then with a suits stamped I stamped the heart & diamond..coloured them red and added them to each of the Atcs.
I used glossy accents to highlight areas on the joker, the nose, the symbols on his shirt, hat and trousers.

A little bit of Steampunk...

Crikey..look how close we are to Christmas...all of a sudden you realise there are only a few months until the end of the year..I am sure the older I get the quicker the time flies,lol...

This months challenge has just started today over at
  Rhedd's Creative Spirit
and design team member Sammy is hosting this months challenge, as always there is plenty to feast your eyes on in the way of projects, so I hope you will be inspired to enter the challenge

My project this month is made from items in my stash that I have saved for recycling in my artwork...

The main body is a large wooden stamp block that I covered with backing paper... ( I take all my stamps off their blocks as after time the wood warps and images don't always stamp correctly ) I love using these blocks.

I used a shallow wooden box for the centre, the type that little embellishments come in and painted it in black acrylic paint, then splodged the red and turquoise paint around the sides and front edges with a sponge.

To line the box I used card with cogs embossed on it and coloured it with distress ink. I used spray and shine to give the box a bit of shimmer.
Then I stamped this fab image of the Gibson Girl, coloured her and adhered to the inside of the box.

I die cut two pediments in grey board and glued both pieces together to make it thicker, then stained it  with distress ink and set it to one side to dry. Once dry that was treated to some spray to give it a nice shimmer before I added it to the top of the box.

All the cogs and the heart were stained with distress inks and once the heart was dry I used the spray again to give it a shimmer, then I added the copper wire and the small cog.
I selected two copper corner pieces and found a little bottle to add to the box...I shaped some wire in to a coil and rubbed it with copper gilding wax.

I added all the embellishments inside the box, the clock & bird, bottle, cogs, spring, heart and the chain and metal disc..and finished by adding the two corner pieces.
I added the wooden wings to the stamp bock before adhering the box to it as I wanted to box to stand out a bit.

From the rest of the cogs that I stained I created the wheels and I also attached a handle ( an old drawer handle ) that I used copper gilding wax on to the top of the block.
I hope this inspires you to enter the challenge, which you can find here at

Cheery Birdhouse.

Octobers Challenge has started over at Altered Eclectics...and I was in two minds what to alter as my design team project..so off I went for a root around in my stash.
I had completely forgotten I had this birdhouse..it's actually quite large..6" (15.5cms ) wide and 9.5" (24cms )  high.
The colour of the birds determined what colours I was going to use for the birdhouse as they are so bright I needed colours to compliment..so I went green and white..love this shade, DoCrafts's Pistachio..fab isn't it.

After sealing the wood with gesso I painted it with acrylic paints..I found a wooden candle stick that was perfect for the stand so I paint that to match the house. I then papered the sides of the house and added the bingo number that I had also painted, I used a black sharpie pen to go over the numbers.

I stamped a couple of "Bird" sentiments to the front of the birdhouse and added the lace along the base edge. Then I spent a while die cutting and rolling up the flowers, using the same paper pad...once made I added them to the candlestick and to the birdhouse itself, also adding some die cut leaves.

I found some flower wire and made a few coils to add with the flowers.....

To finish I added the birds..originally I was only going to use one, but playing around I thought the 2nd bird looked great sat on the roof.

Why not pop over to the challenge blog and have a lookie at all the other gorgeous projects by the design team..you can find the challenge here at
